A textile woven with large amounts of silk creates an extra-large embossment. This is called an “Oni-shibo Chirimen”, and has been long used to wrap gifts filled with the thoughts of the Japanese.
We have been making chirimen since our founding in 1833. The wooden “Haccho Twining Machine” is essential to making chirimen, and has supported embossments named “Shibo” for 120 years. We produce, design, and sell original wrapping cloths, stoles, scarfs, and much more.
